MIFA Senior Transit

Senior Transit provides transportation for Shelby County residents over the age of 60. The program takes eligible individuals to medical or dental appointments, nutrition centers, pharmacies, government agencies, post offices, banks, nursing homes, senior centers, and Alzheimer's day care centers. Dialysis patients are also eligible for services.

• All clients are picked up at their doors and dropped off at the doors of their destinations (drivers are not authorized to help inside homes or at drop-off points).

• Priority is given to low-income senior clients and disabled seniors who are unable to access traditional public transportation.

• All drivers have appropriate commercial licenses.

• $4 round-trip donations are strongly encouraged (or $2 per trip).

• The Transit fleet has 26 vehicles, four with wheelchair lifts.

MIFA Senior Transit is primarily funded by the Aging Commission of the Mid-South and Tennessee Department of Transportation.
