Volunteer for MIFA COOL

MIFA’s COOL (College Offers Opportunities for Life) program is seeking volunteer mentors who will work with teens toward educational and employment goals. This one-year supportive mentorship is designed to help teens identify and achieve long-term goals, develop skills, become more involved in their community, and work toward a self-supportive lifestyle through educational and employment achievements.

Volunteer mentors should exhibit genuine concern for others with an emphasis on building trusting relationships with students. They must possess the desire and ability to work with economically disadvantaged families with limited support networks and to commit considerable time to the program (two to five hours per month).

For more information on becoming a COOL Volunteer Mentor, contact Ashley Jones at (901) 529-4509 or ajones@mifa.org.
