Thomas Kinkade Inspiration Art Gallery hosts event to benefit MIFA

The Thomas Kinkade Inspiration Art Gallery will give away a framed 12 x 18 limited edition canvas print of “Graceland Christmas” on August 13th in exchange for a donation to benefit Presley Place, a housing community for homeless families operated by MIFA Housing Opportunities.

Valued at $750, the canvas of “Graceland Christmas” by Thomas Kinkade, known as the Painter of Light, features Graceland glowing on a beautiful snowy evening, a pink Cadillac and blue Christmas lights lining the driveway just as Elvis would do. The gallery, located in the Wolfchase Galleria in Memphis, is now accepting donations to benefit Presley Place with a minimum suggested donation of $5. All individuals donating will be entered to win. The piece is currently on display at the gallery for viewing.

The benefit event coincides with the 2011 Elvis Week celebration.

More than 200 families have called Presley Place home since it was built in 2001, funded by Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation. In the same way that Lauderdale Courts provided low-income, transitional housing for families like the Presleys, Presley Place shelters homeless families in a safe and nurturing environment until they can make it on their own. It offers families an opportunity to learn and live independently and productively with confidence.
