MIFA’s Love Caps program celebrates 20th anniversary

Since its founding in 1990, MIFA’s Love Caps program has produced more than 65,000 caps and lap robes for MIFA Meals on Wheels clients and the poor and homeless in Memphis. Over 600 knitters and crocheters have volunteered their time to craft these items, and some, including founder Willa Lowry, have been with the program since it began.

On November 7, 2010, Love Caps will celebrate its 20-year milestone with an event at First Baptist Church, 200 East Parkway North, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Knitters will enjoy refreshments and entertainment, and their donations to the program will be displayed.
