Labor of Love event brought churches together in service
On Labor Day, volunteers from five Germantown churches—including St. George’s Episcopal, Germantown Presbyterian, Germantown United Methodist, New Bethel Missionary Baptist, and Kingsway Christian—gathered at St. George’s to participate in the second annual Labor of Love service day.
They delivered 130 shelf-stable meals and 18 No Hungry Senior weekly food boxes to senior clients, cleaned yards for several Meals on Wheels clients, and assembled 400 care packages for MIFA’s Emergency Services program. This is an amazing project and a beautiful demonstration of MIFA's vision: uniting the community through service. We love bringing people together for projects like this one—it's a great reminder that, no matter our differences in backgrounds or beliefs, serving our neighbors is an interest we all have in common.
Many thanks to all who participated! If your church or group is interested in an opportunity like this one, contact Linda Marks at (901) 529-4560 or email@example.com.
