Senior Companion
Eligibility requirements
Clients are selected by area agencies who identify clients based on isolation, which increases the risk of malnutrition and medical complications, and functional need.
Companions are screened based on age, income, background, interests, qualifications, and criminal record, and they undergo extensive training before being paired with a client.
MIFA partners with local health and social services agencies that function as SCP Volunteer Stations. Each Volunteer Station selects clients and develops a care plan for those who will receive services. They also supervise their Companions and make contributions of goods, services, and cash to SCP.
