MIFA Souper Bowl of Caring

Help Tackle Hunger!

MIFA invites you to help tackle hunger by participating in MIFA's 2010 Souper Bowl of Caring. Every day, MIFA feeds over 2,000 seniors. The Souper Bowl is an opportunity for youth to get involved in helping our neighbors who struggle with hunger.

Join the Souper Bowl team with a donation to MIFA Meals.

What it is

The MIFA Souper Bowl of Caring is a fundraising event that raises money for MIFA Meals, which delivers hot, free lunches to more than 2,000 seniors each weekday.

On Super Bowl Sunday, youth groups across the community will take up special collections to help in the battle against hunger.

How to Help

Traditionally youth participate by using large soup pots to make a special collection at their churches. Other groups take up a collection at their Super Bowl parties-each $6 provides one meal for one senior!

We would love for you to be a part of our team this year, however you would like to join in. Contact Linda Marks at lmarks@mifa.org to get more information and the materials that you will need to participate

Saints join hands with MIFA

From Briarcrest Football's website, February 10, 2010

"During Super Bowl Week, our football players participated successfully in a program to help raise funds for MIFA, which is an organization that provides meals to needy senior citizens in our area. I am proud of the effort that our team put forth as a part of MIFA's Souper Bowl of Caring, and I am encouraged by the long-term effect that participating in a program like this might have on our players. There are so many opportunities for us to give back to those in need by using the resources with which we've been blessed, and there is tremendous value in the lessons that we stand to learn by giving freely of ourselves. Thanks to all of those who played a part in this endeavor."
