Holiday Workplace Giving

Help our vulnerable neighbors stay independent and in their homes for the holidays!

Take up an office collection, or simply donate using the form below. Schedule a tour to see the programs your donation supports. Contact Angela Bledsoe at (901) 529-4571 or

Interested in sponsorships and advertising benefits? Take a look at our Christmas Day Meals event, when more than 100 community volunteers deliver Christmas morning meals to over 800 homebound seniors.

For the person who has everything, a catalog of gifts can be found here. Or, send MIFA holiday cards—our volunteers will hand-write your personal message, address each card, and drop them in the mail.

For individuals: Many companies match charitable gifts from their employees, which could double or triple the impact of your giving. Please ask your employer about matching gifts.

Senior Care Packages

Volunteers deliver care packages to seniors with their meals on Christmas Day. Assemble at least eight of the items below in an 11” x 14” decorative gift bag and deliver to MIFA at 910 Vance Ave. weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Deadline for Christmas Day delivery is December 19.

Items to consider: Blanket, stationery, postage stamps, calendar, winter cap, sweater, t-shirt, socks, mittens or gloves, puzzles/crosswords, lotion, flashlight, lap robe, hygiene/toiletry products. No candy or razors, please.

You can bring your group to assemble the bags at MIFA as part of an off-site volunteer experience. Contact Candice Ivy at (901) 529-4586 or

Meals on Wheels

Brighten the day of a homebound senior by delivering Meals on Wheels.

Group opportunities are available as a team-building experience weekdays starting at 9 a.m. An orientation will be provided along with route directions for visiting approximately 10 clients’ homes.

One route takes about two hours. Each car will carry two coolers containing food items. Afterward, all volunteers are invited to return to MIFA for a group discussion.

Requirements: Background checks are required for all volunteers. Each volunteer must complete a volunteer application, and each driver must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
