Matching Gifts

You can double or triple the impact of your giving to MIFA if your company has a matching gift program. Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar, and some even provide financial matches for volunteer hours you serve.

Ask your human resources office whether your company will match your gifts to MIFA.

Monthly Giving

Become a monthly donor and your support will be a sustainable source of income MIFA can count on to fund service to our clients. It’s the easiest way to give and ensure that MIFA receives your ongoing support.

Your recurring online donation is secure and flexible. You choose the amount you wish to give each month and you can change or cancel at any time. Sign up now or make your first credit card donation over the phone by calling Cindy Moore at (901) 529-4502.

 

Planned Giving

A great way to support our work is to name MIFA as a beneficiary of your will, trust, life insurance policy, or retirement plan. For more information about these kinds of planned gifts, please contact Anna Kathryn Word at (901) 529-4523 or akword@mifa.org. She will be glad to answer your questions and work with your financial advisors to provide you with tailored advice to meet your goals.

 

Donor-Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a giving vehicle that provides an immediate tax benefit to you and allows you to recommend grants to your favorite charities. It’s one of the easiest ways to give. To make a donation to MIFA from your DAF, simply contact your fund administrator. You may also have the option to make a monthly, recurring gift to MIFA from your DAF. Please contact your fund administrator for specific details regarding your DAF.

Stock Gifts

You may choose to make an annual gift of stock. A gift of appreciated securities can offer significant tax advantages. Transferring stock is simple, but during the busy days of December, please allow us up to a week to process your gift. You should always consult your financial advisor before making gifts of stock. 

If the securities are held by a broker or banker, you can have the securities transferred directly to the MIFA account listed below:

Then contact Anna Kathryn Word at (901) 529-4523 or akword@mifa.org to alert MIFA that a gift of stock is being made.
 

Tribute Gifts

Tribute gifts are a unique way of honoring family and friends. Make a charitable donation to MIFA to commemorate special events such as birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, achievements, and retirements. Tributes also serve as meaningful expressions of sympathy. You and the individual you designate will receive an acknowledgment of your contribution without reference to the amount. Make your tribute gift online here.

United Way

Donors who give through United Way may direct their gifts to MIFA using our United Way ID: 146827.

Collect Senior Gift Bags

MIFA collects senior gift bags to deliver to Meals on Wheels clients on their birthdays and on Christmas Day. If you would like to host a collection project at your workplace or church, or just put together a bag or two, we would be grateful for your contribution! Click here to learn more.
